Cold Springs Trout Farm

Where you always catch your limit!

Only 15 minutes from downtown Ogden, and about an hour from Salt Lake City, you will find one of the best fishing holes in the state of Utah! The trout farm is a family owned business since 1924. Celebrate 100 years with us! We have 7 catch-out ponds that are stocked with feisty rainbow trout. The main ingredient to producing great-tasting healthy fish is our water source.

Our water source comes from cold Rocky Mountain springs at the base of the Cold Water Canyon which appropriately describes our water. This water and the best diet on the market deliver a firm and mild flavored trout dinner.

Owners

Cold Springs Trout Farm is owned by the Barker Family and operated by their daughters: Tylynn and her husband Eric and Tarah and her husband Jonno.

Cold Springs Trout Farm began in the 1850’s by James Barker. He bought the property initially to supply fresh water for his animals and crops. He began to raise trout eggs and fingerlings. Over time, as the farm and family grew, each family member took on various roles at their farm. His son, Lyman Barker continued with fish farming; he passed it on to his son L. Ward Barker and the legacy of Cold Springs Trout Farm was established and continues today.
