Wasatch Back Alpacas

Wasatch Back Alpacas is a small, family-run farm located in the scenic Wasatch Mountains of Utah. Founded from a love of animals and a desire to live more intentionally, our farm has grown into a place where quality breeding, education, and connection come together. We specialize in breeding friendly, well-handled alpacas with strong genetics, healthy conformation, and luxurious fiber.

Our alpacas are not only bred for excellence but raised with care and daily hands-on interaction, making them well-suited for both fiber production and family-friendly farm life. We focus on maintaining a healthy, happy herd with a calm and curious disposition, and are proud to produce both show-quality animals and delightful companions.

In addition to breeding, we offer seasonal farm tours, educational experiences, and unique hands-on opportunities—such as feeding, walking, and caring for alpacas. Guests of all ages are welcome to learn about alpaca care, fiber processing, and sustainable farming practices. Our on-site farm store features yarn and fiber products made from our herd, along with curated alpaca-themed gifts and local goods.

At Wasatch Back Alpacas, we believe in building meaningful connections—between animals, people, and the land.

Owner

I’m Corinna Porter, founder of Wasatch Back Companions and a proud mom, psychologist, animal lover, and small-farm owner. Nestled in Utah’s beautiful Wasatch Mountains, our farm is home to both our golden retrievers and a beloved herd of alpacas.

As a passionate breeder, I focus on raising golden retrievers with outstanding temperaments, health, and a strong desire to please. Our puppies are raised in our home with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), and a service-dog-based curriculum to give them the best start possible—whether they’re headed for therapy work, service roles, or life as a loyal family companion.

Alongside our dogs, we breed and raise alpacas known for their sweet personalities and luxurious fiber. We offer hands-on farm tours where visitors can feed, walk, and learn about these gentle animals, with seasonal experiences and a farm store featuring alpaca products and local goods.

Above all, I’m a mom first. Balancing the responsibilities of motherhood with the care of our animals hasn’t always been easy—it’s a constant work in progress. But it’s always been important to me that my kids grow up surrounded by animals, learning responsibility, compassion, and the beauty of hard work. Life on the farm offers plenty of lessons for all of us, and while it’s not always perfect, it’s deeply meaningful.
